My Month in Pictures: January

I have to admit, I feel pretty bad for not posting in a while.  The last few months have been hectic to say the least, mainly with University work!  I have also got into reading a lot more recently, so I have spent lots of my free time doing that.  To encourage myself to post more, I actually received a fantastic camera for Christmas from my parents.  It's a Sony bridge camera, which wasn't too expensive, and is perfect for my needs.

Anyway, back to the post.  I have spent the last month and a bit experimenting with my new camera.  This month I have tried to go out on walks and explore my surrounding area.  I moved back to Portsmouth for University, and here are some of the pictures I have taken over the last few weeks.

A walk around Southsea with my boyfriend, Ciaran.  We walked down to the seafront, through Southsea common.  Here is a very picturesque pathway lined with trees.

Nearer to the seafront is the D-Day museum.  We didn't go inside but we had a look at the tanks outside the front of it.

We went further to the seafront and found the little lighthouse.

Walking towards Gunwharf we went back past the D-Day museum and I got a lovely shot with Emirates Spinnaker tower in the background.

Here is a beautiful building with a clock tower (this is actually a hairdressers!)

Next we walked past a row of houses.  I had to take a picture as the colours were so pretty.

The following weekend I took a stroll by myself down to the library and then onto Gunwharf.  Here is a picture from outside the University library.  I was so pleased with the weather!

Here is a beautiful view from Gunwharf right next to Emirates Spinnaker tower, which is obviously out of shot.

Here is the wonderful Emirates Spinnaker Tower immersed in the stunning blue skies of Portsmouth.  (I am yet to venture up there!)

Here are a few of the shops in Gunwharf.

Another view of Emirates Spinnaker Tower.

The next day I went down to Old Portsmouth with my friend Laura.  I didn't take that many photos that day so here is one of them.

Ciaran came to stay again, and we went for another walk down to the seafront.  The weather wasn't as good that day, but at least it wasn't raining!  Ciaran sat down on a bench whilst I was taking pictures of seagulls...

Later that afternoon we went to Gunwharf for a drink.  I couldn't resist taking a picture of the beautiful sunset!

So there is my month in pictures.  I really enjoyed going round taking pictures this month.  I will definitely be doing the same in February and will be doing another 'My Month in Pictures' post.  Hope you enjoyed this one.

See you soon!

  1. This is such a great idea, I might even do some myself. I've got lots of footage but I can't be bothered to edit it into vlogs anymore. I'd love to live in an English seaside town for a year or so, in the future, these pictures are really beautiful ♡♡
